Job Description Job Description... Ladera Lending is looking for an experienced Government Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Mortgage Underwriter with recent experience in a Retail lending environment. The position will be responsible for underwriting loans and apply necessary conditions to ensure that the borrowers meet program specifications by drawing upon thorough knowledge of residential mortgage underwriting guidelines. Essential Functions- • Underwrite new loan file submissions • Responsible for reviewing / clearing own conditions • Maintain complete and accurate loan files • Make independent approval/suspense/declination decisions • Ensure loans being underwritten meet the policies and procedures for salability Experience- • Minimum 3 years underwriting experience • Recent experience using Encompass is a plus • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal partners- both in written and verbal form • Detailed oriented, flexible and adaptable • Knowledge with mortgage products/underwriting procedures • Knowledge in DU/LP and manual underwriting • Learns quickly and thrives in a fast-paced environment • DE/LAPP/SAR/ VA REQUIRED • Remote ok in CA or AZ Company Description Ladera Lending is a direct lender licensed in over 21 States.
