A Mixed Signal Validation System Architect at Emerson T&M (NI) is a trusted technical advisor who understands validation and characterization lab testing intimately; including commonly existing methods used and can guide with a vision of future trends, Scope/SMU/Arb/Digital competition, and customer needs to define architectural requirements for products and systems.

Drives the technical vision for the Semiconductor Validation Mixed Signal space, along with establishing a clear path on how to get there by working through other engineering teams. Seeks innovation to provide differentiated capabilities to customers, to enter new markets, and to amplify innovation within the organization by leveraging existing technology and influence new technical investments.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Deep working knowledge of NI modular instruments and their implications on system architecture to influence NI roadmap decisions.

  • Strong understanding of NI’s PXI modular hardware, with additional emphasis on product families like the PXIe-41xx, PXIe-51xx, and PXIe-657x and how they are best used in a lab validation environment

  • Strong software background focused on instrumentation control and data analysis, with hands‑on experience in T&M tools (LabVIEW, Python, C#, Instrument Studio, TestStand) and NI drivers (DC‑Power, NI‑Digital, NI‑Scope), enabling scalable and maintainable automated test system architectures.

  • Advises business and R&D on technical trade-off decisions. Able to influence based on technical facts, while capable of working closely with Business Managers for business details. Business acumen is a plus.

  • Leads customer discussions on future system needs, trends, and technical exchanges that guide NI’s roadmap. Able to explain hard topics in simple terms and in customer context.

  • Able to assess initial technical feasibility to ensure practicality of strategies

  • Able to do context switching to do system consulting for customer opportunities​

  • Familiar with one or multiple digital standards and their test specifications like MIPI, I2C, SWI3S, etc.

  • Experience in DUT communication and protocol validation.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.

  • 12 years of experience developing, automating or architecting test systems in a verification or validation laboratory.

  • Strong documentation, communication, and problem solving skills.

  • Expert in many Mixed Signal products from NI, including the achievable capabilities when bringing products together to create a system.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is$142,000 - $264,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
