The role is responsible for managing all aspects of the repossession process, including review, recommendation, and sale of repossessed collateralized loans at American Airlines Credit Union. This position strives to minimize losses to the Credit Union, while at the same time being member advocates that help members recover from financial difficulties.<br><br><strong>What You'll Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>Contact members to negotiate acceptable payment arrangements</li><li>Answer repossession related calls from members, agents, and auctions</li><li>Work closely with remarketing company to sell repossessed collateral (autos, boats, planes, etc.) at highest possible auction bid, thereby reducing the members deficiency and charge-offs</li><li>Review recommended accounts and follow up with Collectors for additional information if needed</li><li>Assign loans for repossession</li><li>Monitor repo agent performance and update as needed</li><li>Send required letters according to repossession and remarketing procedures</li><li>Order titles and sends to auction</li><li>Approve floor prices, invoices, and bids of sale</li><li>Review condition of collateral to determine and establish appropriate pricing</li><li>File damage claims with our insurance provider</li><li>Cancel GAP insurance and any Vehicle Service Contract, if applicable</li><li>Prepare monthly reports for Management summarizing results and repossession performance</li><li>Initiate Workout Loans on deficiency balances</li><li>Work with collateral protection insurance company to ensure that proper insurance coverage is attained</li><li>Process impound notices and review for pick up</li><li>Perform periodic system testing specific to repossession processes</li><li>Assist Collectors with incoming ACD calls</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned, including back-up support to other specialties (e.g., Bankruptcy, Legal, etc.)</li><li>The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act. <br><br></li></ul><strong>All you'll need for success<br><br></strong><strong>Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>College degree in Business or equivalent relevant field or equivalent relevant industry experience</li><li>Minimum 3 years' experience in collections, including repossessions and remarketing</li><li>Knowledge of FDCPA and the Texas Act<br><br></li></ul><strong>Skills, Licenses & Certifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software</li><li>Ability to handle legal matters, such as suits for foreclosure, sequestration, writs and judgments</li><li>Demonstrates well-developed decision-making skills and the ability to exercise good judgment, with a strong emphasis on reaching decisions that are in the best interest of AACU</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with all levels both verbally and written</li><li>Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels</li><li>Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision</li><li>Skilled in effective time management skills and proficiency while handling multiple projects/tasks</li><li>Bilingual in Spanish is a plus</li><li>Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance</li><li>Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You'll Get<br><br></strong>Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer:<br><br><ul><li>Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
