In this role, you’ll work closely with senior engineers and product partners on the <strong>Docket Operations pillar</strong>, contributing to features and systems that enable our Docket Operations team to deliver faster, smarter, and efficient solutions.</p> <p>You’ll gain hands-on experience building and maintaining services across multiple systems, supporting integrations across internal tools, and learning how emerging technologies—such as AI-assisted workflows—are applied in real-world production environments. This role is ideal for a career engineer who is eager to learn, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and excited to grow their technical and product skills through collaboration and mentorship.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Your responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implement features and services, including design and document significant projects that involve collaborations among multiple classes and updates to database schemas, applying design patterns appropriately.</li> <li>Write, test, and maintain high-quality code across one or more codebases (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Ruby).</li> <li>Craft thoughtful PRs, even for complex changes, and guide reviewers to address the most important areas of feedback. You consistently provide thoughtful, detailed reviews of other's code.</li> <li>Document medium-sized technical designs (multiple collaborating classes, database schema changes), prepare and lead technical design reviews with coaching from more senior technical leads.</li> <li>Participate in sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives to understand business context and priorities.</li> <li>Respond to code reviews and feedback, continuously improving code quality and reliability.</li> <li>Use AI and data-powered components are used in production systems while following responsible data and privacy guidelines.</li> <li>Take ownership of assigned tasks or features, communicating progress and blockers clearly.</li> <li>You are growing in your skills as a mentor and coach. You are able to help new team members onboard and provide guidance for junior engineers.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>About you</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.</li> <li>3+ years of professional experience in software development (excluding internships) with a focus on back-end or full-stack development.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Ruby, Python).</li> <li>Deep understanding of distributed systems, caching, and database optimization.</li> <li>Experience building user interfaces using modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and component-based frameworks (e.g., React).</li> <li>Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and user experience fundamentals.</li> <li>Familiarity with full-stack development and collaborating closely with backend services.</li> <li>Experience in consuming APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend services.</li> <li>Ability to communicate clearly with teammates and ask questions to clarify product or design requirements.</li> <li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing quality and speed while learning under guidance.</li> <li>Collaborative team player who values feedback, mentorship, and continuous improvement.</li> <li data-section-id="1cdybtk" data-start="280" data-end="355">Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate development is a strong plus.</li> <li data-section-id="1ibmv9j" data-start="356" data-end="426">Exposure to design systems or shared component libraries is a plus.</li> <li data-section-id="12c1h0f" data-start="427" data-end="504">Experience with frontend performance optimization and debugging is a plus.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p> </p> <p>Point is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
