They are seeking a Business Development Industrial Account Manager to increase sales through National Accounts partners in the Industrial channels, focusing on relationship management and strategic growth. Responsibilities

  • Manage, grow, and develop a relationship with key verticals within distribution partners designated to support and represent the total breadth of Stanley Black & Decker industrial solution brands: DEWALT, Stanley, Lenox, Proto, Irwin
  • Demonstrate the value of Stanley Black & Decker’s total product portfolio and services by identifying target opportunities, running product trials, and providing the customer with a cost savings analysis report to show the difference between value and price
  • Identifying key national opportunities with distribution partners to attack with the use of promotions, programs, and new products
  • Manage administrative aspects and timely reporting for all territory management areas, including Expense Management (travel and samples), paperwork, forecasts, gap plans, upside opportunities, and other requests from leadership
  • Keep distributors motivated and informed about products and keeping sales personnel focused on technical services as important value-added service when selling
  • Create and present a value-based method of communication with distribution and end users
  • This position involves approximately 50-60% travel within territory. Local and overnight travel within territory to support distributor / customer needs and growth. Travel for National Distributor Meetings and Industry Trade Shows as needed
  • Coordinate relationship efforts between Industrial Account Managers, distribution, end-users and yourself
  • Meet and Exceed POS Sales Goals for National Accounts
  • Execute on BDT plans for new product introductions at National Accounts, coupled with a plan to execute new product national promotional programming with independents as applicable
  • Review business with customers on a monthly/quarterly basis to ensure growth targets being achieved
  • Properly document in CRM all account and contact information, call activity, and conversion opportunity progression
  • Take credit for value added activity by highlighting that activity to distributor / end user with the appropriate documentation
  • Provide support to distributor partners and end-users on product training through educational and safety seminars
  • Utilize national promos, flyers, resources, and events regionally to develop a relationship with distribution

Skills

  • Bachelors/associate degree in a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent trade experience in a shop environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
  • Technical and mechanical ability to work with tools and machines
  • Demonstrated time management skills, ability to set priorities is required
  • Must be able to develop and present programs to both customers and sales organization
  • Willingness to travel (60%)
  • 2+ Years of direct sales experience in industrial sales is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, and mechanical systems is preferable
