We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join Snap’s Ad Data Infra team, which has the mission to streamline and fortify the backbone of our monetization data processing infrastructure, and modernize our ads data management and utilization with AI.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
  • Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders and be the interface between Monetization engineering and our infrastructure partners, including both the cloud providers and Snap’s Infrastructure teams, leverage their investments to modernize monetization data processing.
  • Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
  • Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members

Requirements

  • Background with building high availability and mission critical systems, with strong technical understanding of trade-offs of modern data processing, storage, and querying solutions (such as Flink, Google Cloud Dataflow, Datalake, Google BigQuery), preferably with experience on their integration with AI agents.
  • Experience with leading an engineering team
  • Ability leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
  • 8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 4+ years of post-grad software development experience
  • 1+ years of experience as manager for an engineering team

Nice-to-haves

  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Experience with large-scale distributed data processing systems or data pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with building solutions on top of modern data ingestion, processing, and warehousing infrastructure, such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg, or managed solutions like Google Dataproc, Databricks, etc.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools like Google BigQuery or Trino.
  • Experience with AI Agent development and MCP protocol
