<p>As a GIS Specialist at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, you'll be a key member of our team, working to ensure that our geographic information system (GIS) accurately reflects the current state of our natural gas and electric system. Your work will be essential to the planning, design, and operations of our system, and you'll be part of an innovative team that is committed to keeping our customers safe and our environment clean.To be successful in this role, you must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a solid technical understanding of GIS software. You should be comfortable working with a variety of GIS technologies, including ESRI software and ArcGIS, and have experience with databases, scripting, and other related software. You should also have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Responsibilities: Develop and implement GIS solutions to support the planning, design, and operations of the natural gas and electric system. Utilize a variety of GIS technologies, including ESRI software and ArcGIS, to create and maintain accurate geographic information system (GIS) maps and databases. Analyze data to identify problems and develop solutions to ensure accuracy of GIS data. Troubleshoot GIS software issues and provide technical support to other staff. Develop scripts and other software tools to improve GIS data management. Utilize creative problem solving to develop innovative GIS solutions. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure successful completion of GIS projects. Maintain current knowledge of GIS software, systems, and best practices. Provide training and support to users of GIS software.
