About the position

The Field Marketing Partner is responsible for executing Local Store Marketing (LSM) strategies within the assigned territory to enhance brand visibility and increase sales. This role involves developing marketing plans, facilitating communication with leadership, and implementing brand initiatives while serving as a brand ambassador in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a brand ambassador by identifying and executing brand opportunities around each unit within the assigned territory.
  • Identifies and executes event and sponsorship activation interaction; WOW and charitable efforts; and local business visits to build brand sales.
  • Collaborates with Restaurant Operations to discuss unit-level plan development and execution as well as sales goals and results.
  • Identifies and reports LSM tools needed such as advertisements, premiums, Point of Purchase (POP) and other materials.
  • Develops quarterly measurement reports of the marketing activities that capture LSM activity objectives, program timing, program results, and sales and transactions impact.
  • Conducts reporting on market or unit conditions that may affect the outdoor billboard program or other LSM programs.
  • Plans LSM for assigned territory. Ensures marketing activities and sales are in alignment with Corporate Brand strategic goals.
  • Research media opportunities (outdoor billboards, media-based sponsorships, etc.) and makes recommendations on engagement of such opportunities based on territory needs.
  • Research community events, develop relationships with community leaders, and recommend which events to sponsor and/or participate in to strengthen community relations and boost sales. Reviews and recommends sponsorship proposals.
  • Negotiates with community event organizers for stores' involvement in community events. Plans, develops, recommends, and is accountable for the budget for stores' involvement in community events. Attends marketing events as a representative of Whataburger to further deepen and develop store's connection to the community.
  • Primary Whataburger representative responsible for success of community partnership marketing event and makes recommendations on viability of future similar events for assigned territory.
  • Analyzes financial conditions (pre-post) and determines effectiveness of any marketing plans implemented, including justification of advertisement fund dollar expenditures/agency charges.
  • Negotiates contracts with and oversees the work of any third-party advertising or marketing vendors used in assigned territory.
  • Responsible for \$100,000, plus annual budget, for assigned territory and fulfillment responsibilities.
  • Responsible for obtaining and/or negotiating with vendors for territory marketing needs.
  • Aligns local Operations Teams with the Marketing Calendar and initiatives through communication of plans, materials, and action items to support promotions.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Previous marketing experience preferred
  • Prior experience managing franchisee relationships, advertising, local store marketing, and sponsorship management preferred
  • 2+ years' experience, preferably in the Restaurant Industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Workday (as applicable)
  • Ability to communicate well with the general public and experience in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with management, vendors, and co-workers
  • Ability to work in a team environment
