We're seeking an experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Liberty High School on a temporary basis. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a planned, sequential, K-12 standards-based program of curricula and instruction in physical education.
  • Teach motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, sportsmanship, self-efficacy, and emotional intelligence.
  • Assess student learning and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting instruction to meet diverse needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and respect for others.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in physical education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other subjects and promote a cohesive school culture.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this temporary Physical Education Teacher position, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Hold a valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position.
  • Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrate proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Be proficient in the use of computer and Internet-based applications, including email and systems applications.
  • Possess and maintain a current CPR and First Aid card.
  • Show a strong command of the physical skills necessary to teach a variety of sports, games, and activities.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience teaching physical education in a K-12 setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation in physical education.

Compensation and Benefits
