Key Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Team Member at JOANN, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering Exceptional Customer Experiences:
    • Greet every JOANN customer and use the F.A.S.T. service model to meet their needs.
    • Ask open-ended questions to understand customers' project needs and escort them to the desired product's location.
    • Engage in friendly conversation with customers while serving them at the cutting counter, cash register, and sales floor.
  • Driving Sales Growth:
    • Proactively drive sales through product knowledge, suggestive selling, and innovative merchandising.
    • Build strong customer relationships to the JOANN brand.
    • Invite customers to participate in store activities such as Education Classes and Custom Framing.
  • Maintaining a Visually Appealing Store Environment:
    • Stock shelves accurately according to planogram while maintaining high productivity and attention to detail.
    • Maintain high standards throughout the sales floor by cleaning and recovering shelves, putting away returns, and cleaning up spills/messes.
    • Unloads freight from the truck and sorts it according to company procedures.
  • Supporting Team Members:
    • Assist other Team Members with tasks to ensure the team exceeds expectations set by Store Management.
    • Work collaboratively with Store Management and other Team Members on projects.
    • Assist with training new Team Members on running the register, cutting fabric, stocking shelves, and customer service.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful as a Part-Time Team Member at JOANN, you will need:

  • Essential Qualifications:
    • No prior experience required; JOANN provides comprehensive training to ensure your success.
    • Ability to work a varied schedule based on business needs.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and group lift +50 pounds up to -97 pounds.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 1-3 years of previous experience in a customer-centric environment.
    • Previous retail or sales experience.
    • Knowledge of crafts and sewing supplies (or willingness to learn).
