Admissions Advisor Position

Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Admissions Advisor for our growing program. The primary role of the Admissions Advisor is to prospect, interview, and enroll individuals and guide the prospect through the enrollment completion process.

This position is a team position that reports to the Admissions Manager. The position is full time (40 hours/week, weekdays, occasional evening and weekend events).

About Bel-Rea:

Bel-Rea is an AVMA and ACCSC accredited veterinary technology vocational training program in southeast Denver (www.belrea.edu). Since the program’s launch in 1971, over 6700 students have earned an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology from Bel-Rea.

With an experienced veterinary faculty, excellent curriculum, well-equipped facility, on-site and off-site labs, and extensive internship program, Bel-Rea offers traditional and non-traditional students the opportunity to gain the solid educational foundation and hands-on experience needed to launch their career in the fast-growing vet tech field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To be successful in the organization, the Advisor must be able to work with diverse contacts and have a high level of professional customer service. Other essential responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for recruitment of appropriate students in accordance with accreditation requirements, program policies, high ethical standards, and accurate portrayal of the program and career field.
  • Walk applicants through the admissions process including prompt initial contact and follow up, completing interviews, and enrolling students.
  • Complete Enrollment Paperwork and follow up with candidates through the enrollment completion process up to and including active attendance in school
  • Communicate with candidates prior to the class start to identify potential problems and facilitate solutions
  • Stay in contact with students throughout their program in order to assist them in becoming successful graduates
  • Quote tuition, terms, and conditions and only make representations concerning programs, quality, capacity and other educational particulars as set forth by the School
  • Meet and exceed established Admissions goals
  • Heavy phone contacts for outreach to those who have requested info on the program, setting appointments, additional follow up with unresolved individuals, and finalization of paperwork for students.
  • Assist with on-campus and off-campus recruiting, enrollment, and engagement activities with the Admissions Team (i.e. orientation, open houses, career fairs, community events).
Education and Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or a Registered Veterinary Technician preferred.
Preferred Qualifications and Abilities
  • A proven, goal-oriented sales focus combined with solid ethical standards and an interest in student success.
  • The ability to meet or exceed sales expectations while adhering to accreditation and program student recruitment policies and regulations.
  • The ability to self-motivate, works independently, establish priorities, and balance multiple duties in a results-focused environment.
  • Accurate forecasting of projected enrollment to management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
  • A strong understanding of professional practices and protecting confidential information.
  • Strong skills with MS Office and with learning new computer database or reporting systems.
Salary and Benefits

Salary of $42,000 – $44,000. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Benefits include paid vacation and sick days, paid holidays off, health insurance/dental plans, 401K plan, and discounted pet supplies.
